Privacy Policy

Overview
TaskBraid is a time tracking application developed by Luma21 LLC. This policy explains what we store, where it lives, and what you can do about it.
TaskBraid requires an account, and your time tracking data is stored on our servers so it can sync between your devices. Earlier versions of TaskBraid kept everything in your browser; that is no longer the case.
What We Store
Account information
- Your email address, and your name and profile picture if your sign-in provider supplies them
- Which sign-in method you used, and the tokens that provider issues us
- Session records, which include the IP address and browser user agent of the sign-in
- Your preferences: theme, timezone, day reset hour, working hours, and week end day
Time tracking data
- Your tasks: names, colours and weekly goals
- Your time blocks: which task, and the start and end time of each
- The notes you write against a task on a given day
Task names and notes are free text. Whatever you type there, we store. If you would rather we did not hold a particular detail, do not put it in a note.
Where It Is Stored
TaskBraid runs on Cloudflare. Your account and time tracking data are stored in a Cloudflare D1 database; login sessions are held in Cloudflare Workers KV. Cloudflare processes this data on our behalf as our hosting provider, and as the host it also produces standard server request logs.
How We Use It
We use your data to operate the product: to sign you in, to show you your own time and notes, and to build your reports. We do not sell your data, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train machine learning models.
Analytics
TaskBraid does not run any analytics or tracking scripts. There are no third-party analytics beacons on this site or in the application.
Cookies
TaskBraid sets a session cookie when you sign in. It is required for the application to work and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking. The application also uses your browser's local storage for interface preferences, such as whether the sidebar is collapsed.
AI Assistants and the MCP Server
TaskBraid offers a Model Context Protocol server, which lets an AI client you choose, such as Claude, read your time tracking data and log time on your behalf.
- Nothing is shared until you explicitly authorise a client through a browser consent screen
- An authorised client acts as you, and can read your tasks, time and notes, and write new entries
- Deleting tasks and changing your settings are deliberately not exposed to these clients
- Once you authorise a client, whatever it reads is then handled under that provider's privacy policy, not ours
Third-Party Services
- Cloudflare: hosting, database and session storage. Privacy policy.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: a captcha on our sign-in endpoints, used to block automated abuse.
- Sign-in providers: if you sign in with Google (or another supported provider), that provider tells us your email, name and profile picture. Google's privacy policy.
- Email delivery: sign-in links are sent through our email provider, MXRoute.
- Google Fonts: this site and the application load the DM Sans, Instrument Serif and JetBrains Mono typefaces from Google's servers, which means Google receives your IP address when a page loads. Google's privacy policy.
Data Retention
How long we keep your time entries depends on your plan.
- Free: a rolling 60 days. Time entries and day notes older than 60 days are deleted permanently and cannot be recovered. Your tasks, goals and settings are not affected.
- Pro and Max: no time limit. Your history stays until you remove it. These plans are not available yet.
If you are on the Free plan and want to keep more than 60 days, export your data before it ages out. Settings has a one-click JSON export.
Deleting your account removes your account record and, with it, your tasks, time blocks, notes, goals and preferences. Deletion is immediate and cannot be undone, so export first if you want a copy.
Your Rights
- Access and portability: Settings → Data Management → Export downloads everything we hold for you as JSON.
- Correction: your tasks, notes, time blocks and profile are all editable in the application.
- Deletion: Account → Danger Zone → Delete Account removes your account and its data.
- Withdrawing AI access: revoke a connected client from the AI tool you authorised it in.
Depending on where you live you may have further rights over your personal data. Email us and we will help.
Beta Status
TaskBraid is in open beta and anyone can create an account. Please keep in mind that a beta product carries more risk of disruption or data loss than a finished one, so export regularly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated revision date.
